Located just a 5-minute drive from campus, a new family-run coffee shop, Lolli & Pop’s, opened in Stevens Point on Jan. 5, 2026.

David Lewis and his wife, Amanda Lewis, and their eight kids help run the coffee shop.

“When you have people coming in ordering a ton of coffee, I can’t do it all by myself.” said Lewis.

Annalise Lewis, their second-daughter, helps keep everything organized, from orders to baked goods and stocking items. Meanwhile, Lewis focuses on making drinks.

The shop is open, Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. On 3041 Michigan Ave, Stevens Point, 54481. Soon Lewis hopes to expand hours and possibly open on the weekends.

Lewis has owned his first business, Extreme Home Arcade, for more than 25 years and decided to open a second location next door to better serve the Stevens Point community, where he has lived for 15 years.

When Lewis was asked whether he would consider opening more locations in the future, he said, “Unless I’m ready to retire, there’s always room for expansion and growth.”

The name “Lolli & Pop’s” comes from their names as grandparents, David (Pop’s) Lewis and Amanda (Lolli) Lewis. They have unique drink names, also being a few best sellers, The Millie Drink, after their first grandkid, and Pop’s favorite, after Pop.

Hoping to stand out from other coffee shops, they focus on dark roast and long bottom coffee and even ferment their own kombucha. They also serve mocha, chai, and green tea refreshers, along with baked goods like muffins and scones, and they plan to start making their own sourdough soon.

One way they strive to help the community is their “Free Coffee Fridays,” in which their son Elias, goes out to local businesses or the streets of Stevens Point, handing out coffee. They also allow businesses to sponsor each other by offering discounts on larger orders. Lewis said, “You can give something to somebody else.”

Although they are not looking for any workers or volunteers now, Lewis said, “We hope to do a lot with the college and high school students.”

Lolli & Pop’s offers study spaces for students, as well as rooms that can be rented and reserved for Bible studies and meetings.

With the recent opening, Lolli & Pop’s has sold over 7,000 coffees in the past three weeks, according to Lewis.

“I’m not in it for the money,” Lewis said. “I did everything I wanted.”
