The University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Queer Resource Center will host the second annual Drag Me to Finals on Friday, April 4 in the DUC Laird room. This drag competition show allows five amateur performers to compete for a cash prize.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m., and the show will start at 7 p.m. Tickets are priced at $10 for students and $15 for the community, with tables available for $100 each, seating six. All prices will remain the same until the day of the show; on the day of the event, they will increase by $5. Attendees must be 18 or older.
The performance will feature nine performers, along with a halftime show. Harysun, a former UWSP alum, will be the host, and this year’s theme is Moulin Rouge.
“We picked the theme of Moulin Rouge this year as an homage to all the community has endured as of late,” said Angel Bronk, the QRC programming coordinator. “We want to show that the community is still very much alive, that we are still supporting each other, and we pride ourselves on the love that embodies Moulin Rouge.”
The five competing drag performers this year include Sage Green, Toni Bunni, Harison, Ace of Spaces, and Dr. Serotonia. Also performing are Lola Rome, Bryanna Banx$ and last year’s winner, Arson-Nic.
The QRC will have a table at the event selling merchandise. There will also be a bar set up, along with a tip exchange booth.
Last year’s winner and returning drag king, Arson-Nic, is excited about this year’s performance. “Every time I get to do drag, it’s like I won the lottery,” Arson-Nic said.
Last year’s Drag Me to Finals was Arson-Nic’s first time donning the stage. Now this will be their third time returning to UW-Stevens Point to perform.

The Moulin Rouge theme will directly inspire Arson-Nic’s performance. Through their performance they want to spread the message of self-love and acceptance.
Along with the show itself, the audience will also have themes: opulence, kink, and burlesque. There will be prizes for the best dressed in each theme.
In collaboration, the week of March 31, Zest Coffee House and Bakery will make two drinks inspired by the show: a red velvet brownie batter latte with heart sprinkles and whip, named “Come What May Latte,” and a green apple diamond Italian soda called “Green Fairy Absinthe.”
All the profits from this event go directly back to the QRC to help support students and put on more events in the future.
